Dutch traditions

My aunt from Amsterdam came round today to meet Dex for the first time. It was excellent hanging out with her and, obviously, she is just smitten. Among the bundle of gifts from her and other Dutch family and friends, were these Muisjes and beschuit, traditionally eaten to celebrate the birth of a new baby.

Pretty gutted to hear the news of the GSA fire, in particular the damage to the library. I don't know why, but I was quite surprised at how much of my fb timeline was taken up by people expressing their genuine upset at the fire. It seems that building is much loved by many.
