The Garden of England
Best viewed *larger*
Kent - often called the 'Garden of England' due to the once amazing fields of hops & orchards - mostly & sadly gone, but what remains so so precious! These are of course buttercups! This was taken at the grounds of Chartwell, the house of Winston Churchill:
Fit for a painter
We had a lovely drive through the Sevenoaks Weald, approaching Chartwell from a different direction, so it was rather confusing! The weather of course improved as we were leaving, but it's been an emotional few days revisiting old haunts & Chartwell is certainly one of those!
This evening it was to the church for the practice run of the ceremony tomorrow - as in, THE WEDDING! Best get some sleep now before I ramble on…
Although, do have to say that at 11:35pm tonight, it will be 2 years since my beautiful mum died, it feels so much longer, yet I also feel I only spoke to her an hour ago! Time stands still. I think that's how it should be. xxx
