Time Ball Ceremony

24th May 1887 ! Victoria's Golden Jubilee ! A time ball was used at Margate Clock Tower, at one o'clock each day the ball would go up & drop on the stroke of one. It stopped working in the 1920's and today it has been reinstated to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. See it daily at 1pm !
