Another Witton Country Park image

Coming from the pine and fir forests of mid-Sweden these beech woods look really special and seem so representative of Britain to me.
With these mature beeches you have a huge open space under a really high green canopy. The ground is fairly bare and covered in a layer of brown beech-nut shells. Even on a day like this when it is pouring down with rain it feels fairly dry and bright under these beech trees.
I was doing my daily 6 km accompanied by Bramble, who was a little nervous at first (Who is this person taking me for a walk?) but then enjoyed her second walk of the day.
