She asked to help bury BabyGrey. After an unsettled night, she was back to her peaceful acceptance and matter-of-fact manner about it. I gave her the choice to go or not to the wee burial. And I checked with her that she understood what would happen. "We are going to take her and dig a hole for her body. I want to do it". She had a last cuddle, a brief panic at covering her up when it was time to bury her before deciding she preferred it for BabyGrey if she had her eyes covered. She did brilliantly and enjoyed a play with her much-adored cousins who happened to be there too. She thought about a little wobble as we sat to leave on the train, burying her face in her arms and whispering "Grey..." That was it. She did fabulously.
On a lighter note, one of her friends & dad arrived late to ballet this morning. Katie told them her rabbit had died. He said "aww, she's in bunny heaven now". Katie said "no, she's in grandads van".
We have since repeated chat about how BabyGreys body has now stopped, but the fun and love and specials about BabyGrey is now in heaven. She has asked if my friends baby girl might take care of BabyGrey in heaven for us, with God looking after them.
In totally separate news, Katie decided this morning she wanted to try a stage 4 reading book. She read it, nailed it and asked to do a second.
She's done so much today that has made me very very proud.
