Steinerkogel

The food in the hotel is really terrific; the breakfasts are buffet style, and there is just about everything you could imagine, cold meats, cheeses, lots of different types of bread and rolls, cereals and fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs. Also a selection of omelettes made as you wait, with any filling you would desire. Really sets you up for the day.

First walking day of our holiday, and the weather is just brilliant; lots of snow around on the tops, as we are early in the year for walking. Most of the club walked along the river to Zell am Ziller, but a group of us took two taxies to Brandberg, and walked up the steep path on the high meadows to the little restaurant which sits above Mayrhofen, called Steinerkogel.

The waitress took my blip for me today, as we asked her to take a group photo. We spent an hour or so, just admiring the view which is stunning, and drinking Radler or coffee. Some even had ice cream!!!!

We then walked back down to Brandberg, and after a short break we took the very steep path back to Mayrhofen. The Austrians are experts at these pathways, and make great zig zags to make it easier.


And after our walk we had a great dinner, and then there was entertainment, and we all had a good dance.
