The Bear and the Strawberry Tree

I've never come across a strawberry tree. I thought they grew on ground level plants but there you go.

Having just researched this statue I now know that this is the symbol of Madrid and features on the city's coat of arms.

It stands in Puerta del Sol in the centre of Madrid and is a popular photo opportunity. I had to wait for ages to get a shot without anyone standing in front of it.
