144/365 Petals

It rained very hard for a brief period this afternoon, but it was enough to dislodge petals from the dahlia plant on the deck. There's something about fallen, scattered flower petals that evokes conflicting feelings in me: a little mournful for what has been lost, but also recognizing a kind of beauty in the haphazard way that they lay.
