St Johns
As I sat in church this morning which we now have in the hall due to the church being considered an earthquake risk I kept looking out and seeing lovely light shining on the trees and the church on the hill. I couldn't wait for the service to finish so as I could go grab my camera out of the car but murphy's law that special bit of light was gone.
I see lovely blips posted of the church buildings overseas that have stood for hundreds of years and have been restored after wars etc; I feel sad as I don't think enough is being done to save our heritage buildings since the quake. I know many just had to go but we should be saving more than we are.
I always thought St Johns would be there forever but not so it would seem as where would the money come from to restore it, we have such dwindling congregations. I know church isn't the building but it is part of it. The buildings themselves are a statement in the community. There I just needed to stand on that soap box and blip has given me the opportunity.
After that early sun the weather deteriorated and it has poured all day. Good day for a fire, listening to my favourite music and generally blobbing out
