My Favourite

I love trains. I especially love articulated locomotives. I love small Mallet articulated loco's the best. They have so many intricate parts going all at once and when you get up close to one, you can see they're like an enlarged example of steam-powered watchmaking. Especially when you consider how long ago they ran (especially this one) and how complex it must have been to service them!

This was a real treat for me. The Glenbrook Vintage Railway have a 2-4-4-2 Alco Mallet that used to run up until 2006 when its boiler failed inspection. Dunno if it'll ever run again but here she is, tucked away in a shed. The Lovely Ange waited patiently while I took dozens of photos and poured all over everything.
