Last Step
This is the last bit of deck to be ripped out and repaired. The weather's been great so far which is just as bloody well since we had to strip off all the standing rigging forward of the main mast. Not much holding things up right now. We haven't even got anything to tie a mooring line to.
Hopefully the stern bitts won't pop.
Next it's on with the new decking and bung the bowsprint back on with new bolts. A five metre long kwila bowsprint is a heavy beast, if you ever find yourself needing to lift one off. We used the mainsail halyard as a winch.
Nothing much stops us, I tell you.
The skinny thing sticking up beyond the bow is the jackstay. It ended up making for a perfect place to drape a tarpaulin for keeping the rain off.
