Keeping Hands Free

A very typical sight in Mali. The ladies almost always carry their shopping on their heads. I have never seen a pram, so the use of the cloth sling for the babies (there are a great number) is logical. When I think back to dragging bags all around the shops in Europe, I have to ask why we don't adopt a similar approach.
