Amalia Rodrigues

My wife and I chanced upon a shop in Tavira. Inside was playing this beautiful haunting music. The singer was Amalia Rodrigues who is known as "Rainha do Fado" (Queen of Fado). Fado is a music genre that can be traced back to the 1820's in Portugal. She died in 1999.
