Lady's Slipper

We hiked up to our local gameland on a beautiful, blue-sky, late May morning. The woods were green as could be and the lady's slipper orchids were out in full splendor, lining some of our favorite pathways with large, bulbous, pink blooms. Somehow they always look to me like old-fashioned ladies wearing hoop skirts and bonnets. Such pretty pink ladies!
