Wild flower allotment

Some people don't grow veg on their plots but cultivate wild flowers instead. This lady and her husband have 2 whole plots so can afford to use this one specifically for flowers - which does us all good as it attracts all sorts of beneficial insects.

This was the occasion of the spring barbeque at the allotment, some of the people can be seen in the background. We went for a short time - until the heavens opened then beat a hasty retreat to get on with the more pressing things you have to do when you return from holiday.

A bit of work for a start, which seems odd on a bank holiday weekend but the next few days are packed so time has to be planned carefully. Mind you, we did find time to walk into town and back to get some strimmer attachments and cod liver oil - both of which were sorely needed. Good job today's dinner was from the freezer.
