A walk on Scout Scar today.
There are plenty of early purple orchids still in flower, and rock rose and blossom on the white beam and hawthorn.
The limestone is fascinating, supporting a dwarf ash forest on a stone floor. It is surprising how plants grow almost anywhere, Nature abhors a vacuum they say.
