Garrulus glandarius

This guy has been put in his place in the local Pecking Order by the Magpies who seem to think they have the feeding rights to the back garden.
He in turn lords it over the Blackbirds, Starlings and tits, making his presence felt by knocking any smaller birds off the feeders.
The only bird in the garden who doesn't seem bothered by either the Magpies or the Jay is the resident Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. He just hangs onto the side of the feeder when hassled as if he'd been stuck on there with super glue. However, the sound of a shutter closing at twenty feet, and he's gone.
Fancy dress magpie costume needed..........
