Sweep
I used to love Sooty and his mate Sweep when I was a child. Sooty was a golden glove puppet but Harry Corbett covered his ears and nose with soot so that he would show up better on black and white TV.
My pic shows a Sweep. These moths, also know as smokes, the males of which are black and hairy, make cases out of dry grass to live in. Hence their other names, bagworms or case moths. The females are grub-like and wingless. I've included a fly in the pic for scale.
