Spent a few hours in here today, going to concerts in a scaled down version of the old Bath Festival Jazz weekend. The lunchtime gig was the Hutchinson Andrew Trio from Alberta Canada - you could immediately hear the influence of the Keith Jarrett trio, and that isn't a bad thing at all. This evening, it was the splendid Finnish solo pianist Iiro Rantala - hugely entertaining, and also musically satisfying - quite a rare combination.
