The tree of Doris.

Another sad dog story. This camellia marks the place where we buried Doris, she was a very rough haired little Jack Russell/terrier that we rescued from the dog pound, she was a companion for Buddy our Golden Retriever. Buddy loved Doris, he was never jealous when we got her he just thought she was great. We'd only had her for 3 months when she went looking for trouble in the long grass. Doris killed & was killed by a red bellied black snake, we found it about a week later in the grass. Doris had made a fatal error in biting the snake in the middle of it's body it had arched up & bitten her on the head.
Buddy was grief stricken, he stopped retrieving & was off his food until we bought a puppy home called Potter, he loved Potter.
