Bank Holiday Monday

Cold.
And wet.

What a shame about all those Village Feasts and Fetes organised for today.

At least it's lush and green in the Great Outdoors.

We have a (rather attractive) tree in the back garden chez nous.
When we bought this place the previous owner was clearly a bit chuffed with it.
He said that one species (Species? Type?) had been grafted on to another..
Which made it Special.

Anyway. It's taken over the garden and needs a prune.
So, the Tree Man came recently.
He asked what it was. (A tree?).
He asked what colour the blossom was, when it appeared?
'Pink', I replied (confidently).
He went home to look it up. (With some difficulty, apparently).
My respect for our Special tree grew :-)

It's fragrantly (and wetly) in blossom today.

White blossom.

Some you win...

All of which has nothing whatsoever to do with the wet clematis in the image.
(I attempted the white blossom.
To no avail).

Clematis :-)
