What struck my fancy

St Mary's, Islington

. . . which is a few houses west of Kings Lynn on the A47, nothing to do with the grander sophisticated place in London. The church remains consecrated in spite of its ruined condition. The graves are overgrown and head stones peep through tall grass and weeds. None are tended. The dates of death are around the late 1800s to around 1910 on the ones where the print was readable.

The headstones, ruined outlines and clouds seemed to go well together.

The place is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
