Pictures in an Exhibition

We finally managed to visit the Yorkshire Photographic Union exhibition this morning in Halifax. May seems to have been a mad month, (with plenty of enjoyable moments) and unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the opening event. My two photos are on the diagonal - `Balanced Diet' was awarded a certificate and Three Winter Trees was selected to represent Yorkshire in the national competition. We only had one other image selected from our clun, Peter's `Give us some dosh', which also was awarded a certificate. The bottom right photo is from the Pontefract club. I felt there were some first class prints in the exhibition and it was good to be able to see them first hand. (There were also a few badly processed and printed ones - it's possible that these were from the junior competition, though hard to know for sure!) The most disappointing element was the display of digital images - the tv monitor was too small and the resolution had not been set correctly on the monitor so they were all displaying in a distorted fashion. So much effort goes into displaying the print images properly, is it too much to ask that the same time and care is devoted to the digital section?
p.s. sorry for the quality of the photo, the light was terrible and I was hand holding.
