What's this white stuff?

Don't think I have ever seen it like this in The South (of England)

Took me three hours to get home. The car is abandoned a mile away. Trudged home through the snow to a scene that was unrecognisable. This shot outside my bedroom window was as good as it got due to anything with a flash catching falling snowdrops only.
