Masterwork

I was desperately sad to learn of the fire that spread through Glasgow School of Art on Friday, destroying the beautiful Mackintosh Library. It is described as the masterpiece in his masterwork, and I was privileged to visit a couple of months ago. A truly inspirational space.

Thankfully nobody was injured in the fire, but the art, library and archives communities recognise the immense loss of this fabulous piece of heritage - as well as other creative work from the building.

My timeout today was contemplation of a few of our books on the genius of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
