2nd choice

A difficult day. Quite depressed by the election results. Even more depressed by the response from some quarters.

Not easy to comprehend (never mind accept) living in a multiracial, multicultural home. To say nothing of spending large chunks of my time amongst foreigners (which causes me pleasure rather than angst).

The mood was lifted this evening by a pre-arranged attendance at the first local meeting of the Business for Scotland organisation. An excellent speaker, good sized audience, interesting Q&A session, super buffet, and nice positive people to talk to whilst eating.

While gazing into space at some stage this afternoon, I spotted a woodpecker in a neighbour's garden. Grabbed my camera, got it switched on and almost focussed - and the bird disappeared.

The pigeon was more helpful.
