Midnight Sun from Bergen
....well I am safely ensconced in my lovely cosy cabin and we left the port of Bergen in Norway about 10.30 pm. This was taken just before midnight. The Captain has warned us that we will all suffer sleep deprivation at this time of year because it is only dark for 4-5 hours and outside of that time we won't want to miss the constantly changing landscapes and light. However, the cold will bring you in....I can see why there is a free woolly hat on each pillow!
The ship is really lovely in that it has gorgeous wooded areas and is very comfortable, but it is very much a working ship too...carrying cargo and local passengers and cars between the 32 ports we will pass along the coast.
Have even managed to connect to a very intermittent internet signal...so hopefully can post my first Norwegian blip.
Now time for a large glass of Talisker to thaw out whilst I look through the porthole!
Will try to keep blipping but may not have much time to comment on others...sorry!
