The Boat Hoist!

Out down to port Edgar today to help out the the Primary 6 Outdoor Education day out.

They were based there for the day and the activities included Sailing, Mountain Biking and Bush Craft (though I'm assured there were no Bush Tucka Trials to endure).

I was assigned to help out with the "little cherubs" on the VAT Run Mountain Biking loop.

It was great fun and I think most of the kids enjoyed themselves - save from a few bumps and bruises!!

At lunch however we all gathered back at Port Edgar and enjoyed our sandwiches whilst the sun shone and it was then that I saw for the first time how some of the bigger boats make it into the water.

Its by this hoist which has a couple of strops that will lift the boat from its moorings and gently lower it into the sea - Brilliant!
