Pictures & Woodwork.

OK, we are on our way!

Having lived here for the past 27 years, and never been, we decided to go to Staunton Country Park today. It is literally about 7 miles away from us.

Staunton Country Park is a Listed Regency landscaped parkland and forest covering about 1000 acres. It has an Ornamental farm, Lake, Follies, Maze, Walled garden and Glasshouses.
It is run by Hampshire County Council.
Having not been there before ( which we should have been), it is absolutely beautiful. When we drove into the car park, which was full, managed to find a space, we thought it was going to be heaving with people. No, we only saw a very few people and it was so peaceful.
The weather was 'subtle' but not that cold. In fact the sun appeared briefly several times and we could certainly feel the warmth.

I took this shot down by the lake and wanted to catch the ripples in the water created by the approaching ducks. It is not as sharp as I would like, a) they were swimming fairly fast towards us and, b) it was a handheld shot.
I took loads of shots and this is one of many.
We are going to return another day and explore more. Amazing, you do not have to travel far from your own 'doorstep' to enjoy the countryside.

Take care and enjoy.
