Wild

A beautiful day - perfect for a longer bike ride. So we set off on basically a two-wheeled pub crawl to Appletreewick, Burnsall and then Hetton. Actually, we only stopped at the pub in Hetton for some Yapas - Yorkshire Tapas, which were fab. Then back in the saddle and home. A round trip of 46 km, our longest yet.
In our absence there had been some garden violence - a sparrow (identified by a little pile of feathers and its beak) had been dispatched by a sparrowhawk. I spent the rest of the evening feeding up the others. Found an exhausted looking bumble bee, and fed her with sugared water solution. On relocating her to some green shelter I discovered this frog. It's eye sparkling in the sunshine.
