The story so far...

Neighbourhood

We did some exploring today. We have lived in our house for nearly two months but today was the first time we went for a walk in the area. We live in an area of outstanding natural beauty and next to what was once the Jewish version of eton. We wondered down some of the public footpaths and discovered an old church which was partly in ruins. We had a look around as it is still open to the public and it is stunningly beautiful but all quite an creepy place. Not one to go to when it's dark. We then had an explore around the college grounds. It is an amazing place. Great architecture, classrooms still with tables, chairs and textbooks in, a huge drained swimming pool and then we found this amphitheatre which funnily enough is literally directly behind our house (you can even see our house in this picture). It must have been such a grand place in its heyday it is quite sad to see it in the state it's in now.
In the afternoon we were invited round to our neighbours house for dinner. They are a lovely family and it was really nice to spend the evening getting to know new friends over good food.
We feel really lucky to have our new home.
