There are times when you are in a space and can feel most alone on the planet - and yet there are often others who can see you from a very long ways away -

I just finished a book by John Burnside, a Scottish writer, named A Summer of Drowning. In it a mother and daughter live a kind of almost reclusive life on a small island in the far north of Norway - and this theme in the book of aloneness and being seen, and seeing other was so expressed as I rowed by and noticed this couple high up on the hill looking out on the world.

That I took their photo even with just the iPhone.
