rarity

I couldn't tell you the last time I bought a national newspaper.

I used to buy the local weekly, but stopped when it produced a 24 page supplement for a royal baby recently. Sorry folks, it ain't local news and if I want that kind of crud I just have to buy the Daily Heil.

It is rare for me to even pick up a newspaper in a pub or on a train.

TV went the same way 4 years ago. I'll watch sport once a week on the iPlayer, but that's it. German TV (online) sometimes if ice hockey is on.

The FT ran a very good story today on its front page (I don't mean the Lagarde one, although it's good too), so I bought it.

To me the first paragraph was worth the £2.50.
