Brighton beach from the pier.

We decided yesterday to have a 24hr break away. We chose Brighton out of the places reasonably easy to reach in a short journey and with 'things to do'.

It was almost a disaster as we discovered when tyre checking at the nearest petrol station, that one of the back tyres on Fred's car was flat. We limped to near by tyre place and - luckily it was just the valve - which the nice young mechanic replaced for free! . I then realised I had left my camera behind - but it wasn't really an option to go home.

On to Brighton!
We checked in (Premier Inn - really brill central location - reasonable rates for a room for 3).
Lunch was fish and chips on the beach :-) We then went around the Royal Pavilion where we had a welcome cup of tea, Wrote and posted postcards, visited a nice pub, went for a couple of rides on the pier (where this blip was taken), shopped in The Lanes...
and finished with a curry in a great Indian with an eat-all-you-can for £6.95. Alex did them proud and it was very flavoursome!
