Scottish Strawberries and Cream..

This afternoon I took a little time out to watch the finish of Andy Murray's tennis match at the French Open. In celebration of his victory, we had strawberries and cream, with strawberries from a Perthshire farm not a million miles from where Andy was raised in Dunblane.

It is really good to be able to support local producers. It is positive in all sorts of ways, not least in terms of the environment and local economy. A further benefit is that these strawberries tasted like, well, strawberries. During the winter I bought a punnet of imported strawberries that had precious little taste, like eating red water, so its good to eat the real thing.
