The Water Fountain on Sandside

"Drink Thirsty Soul..." begins the inscription and compelling
that the view most likely seen by the drinker and certainly
by this image through this iconic marble is that of a road called
Paradise which ascends steeply towards the Town's 12th Cent.
Parish Church - St Mary's. On the side of this sculpture adjoining
the road is provision for the thirsty horse which would have been
as necessary at the beginning of the 20th Cent. as a petrol filling
station is today.
