down on the farm

great excitement. Farm visit day for Em's nursery class.
After yesterday, dull, cold, damp, today couldn't have been more different or more perfect. One of those blousey late Spring days where the gentle warm breeze stirs the grasses and wildflowers and the sunlight shimmers through the still translucent tree canopy. Quite a contrast to our last visit here in February.
Em had a blast, her teachers full of stories of how she loved being with the animals and how gentle she was with them. The class helped to gather eggs from the hens, they were 'duck dogs' rounding up the errant ducks, they fed the bunnies and their litters and the kids. After a morning outside by pick up time Em was tired and happy and snuck in a sneaky sleep on the way home.
May is my favourite month.
