Now the country song for ever lost its soul

Watch carefully.

What you are seeing here, is Fat Cat (BEAU), waiting and stalking.

KILLER (BEAN), screamed at me from the patio tonight, "Meowwwwwwmum, ah haz burd"

I ran out and I squealed as she batted it a bit back and forward. I managed to tempt her away, and as I did, the birdie flew off.

Way Hay I thought, I've saved one. Stupid bird landed about 5 ft away on the grass, and Bean pounced.

But what she wasn't expecting was the same time, that I would pounce, cat-like and as fast as she did, and I grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and carted her back to the house.

I also fell flat on Beau and stopped her from attacking stunned bird who had now been caught twice by Killer, batted around the garden a bit, and then almost flattened by me.

Give or take thirty minutes - Killer has a short memory, she went out, looked at the grass, shrugged, yes, my cats shrug, and wandered off in search of something else to kill.

Beau however, smelt a rat. Or in this case, a shaking birdie who was sitting at the top of this hedge.

It'll be okay though, because Beau can't jump.

This photo, is about the most active I've seen her in three years.

AND FOR TUSCANY FOLLOWERS: HIMSELF IS A-OKAY. I EMAILED WITH HIM TONIGHT.
