Strathearn Tartan

Crieff had a royal visit this morning and in the weeks runnng up to today, there has been a considerable amount of cleaning, repairing, painting and general tarting up going on.

One of the features has been some smart pennants appearing on our brand new street lights. The pennants mostly depict local attractions of the generic sort - whisky, fishing, golf etc but every fifth or sixth one is this tartan, the Strathearn tartan.

It's very autumnal isn't it? Personally, I prefer more muted tartans - browns and greens - rather than the bright ones, but I suppose muddy browns & greens wouldn't look too good half way up a lamp post!!

I hope we get to keep the pennants for the town. They're very smart. The tartan ones and those depicting the town's coat of arms aren't going to be much use to anyone else, but I'm a bit worried that the generic whisky, golf, fishing, parks ones may go walkabout :-)
