The Right Kind of Fat

Today was irrelevant, except for the fact that I found Trader Joe's on my lunch break PRAISE JESUS.
The article I posted on facebook earlier, the one that shares its subject with the title of this entry--it really resonated with me. Whenever I see plus sized models--I feel good, on the surface, at least. I feel good about non-thin/muscular body types being portrayed. But there's always something that bothers me about them, and I was never able to place my finger on it until reading the article. These plus sized models--they're still literally perfect regardless of their weight. Fat or skinny, I still compare myself to any of these models, and pick away at my flaws. Compare me to any of your standard plus sizes models: my boobs are too small, my shoulders are too broad, my stomach is lumpy. I think I'm okay with that. Recoginizing that no, plus sized models are not representative of the entire plus-sized population--that's extremely empowering to me.
