Cycling in the City

An evening of pro cycling in the Grassmarket - the same little circuit they used before for the Nocturne race a few years ago. This time both women's and men's races on the Pearl Izumi tour. They are staging a series of races around the UK in a number of different venues. In this triptych we have Helen Wyman powering up Victoria Street in (an ultimately unsuccessful) pursuit of race leader Katie Archibald. In the middle are Charline Joiner from Dunfermline (with the sunglasses) and Eileen Roe, from Fife. Despite finishing fourth and fifth on the night they are still leading the overall standings, with Eileen ten points clear of Charline with two rounds to go. In the final picture is one of the men in their race, showing just how much effort was involved in getting up Victoria Street!
