The Warrington Dodo
Facing a cold, wet Wednesday 'summer cruising' on the Bridgewater Canal was not top of the list. So we stayed in Stockton Heath and went to Warrington for a furtle about. We found Warrington Museum - an absolute gem. The botany display is straight out of the 19th Century, deliberately so. There are only 5 halls, but each is laid out superbly, the Geology hall is locally based and some superb old models build up the landscape over the history of the Earth. They also have some feejees, which I'd seen photos of but never a 'real' one.
But, I loved the model dodo :-)
