Small Magpie moth

This moth had me fooled this morning. I thought it must be a Magpie moth or one of its relatives, but none of the pictures in my books looked right. Eventually I realised it is not classified as a macro-moth, despite being quite large. It is the micro-moth Eurrhypara hortula or Small Magpie - a really handsome moth in my opinion.

I'm off to Armenia and the Caucusus mountains tonight so my Photo of the day posts may be interrupted for a while, but expect mountains, ancient churches, spectacular plants and butterflies...eventually!
