Muppet Faces

Time for another adventure with my best friends! I'm so glad they came to visit with me for a week all the way from Maryland! I found an interesting advertisement for a musical event that takes place in a barn every week. The listing basically stated that it was open "mik" and open to anyone's talents. It suggested a small donation or snack and told us to "look for the big yellow wheels." We had no idea what to expect, really, except that there would definitely be music. When we walked through the doors it was like a country wonderland. There were all sorts of tin signs and odd lawn ornaments decorating the musty building. It had an odd charm with a touch of organized chaos. The crowd was mostly mid 40's to senior status and we were the youngest of them all. The music was bluegrass based with some Eric Clapton thrown in here and there. The emcee was an older woman in her mid-50's that had a voice that was robust and comical. It was quite entertaining to walk into a whole new world and community created by just a handful of farmers and country folk. The muppet face pic is really just a silly inside joke, but it takes place in a much more humorous setting.
