Moment Of Tranquility, V&A Courtyard, London
Day 149 of 365. Decided to pop up to London today to see an exhibition at the V & A. It was an exhibition of the winning entries for the Prix Pictet, the aims of which are to harness the powers of photography to draw the world's attention to the issues of sustainability, especially those that concern the environment. This year's theme was consumption.
It sounds like a rather dry subject matter but the exhibition was fascinating and included some really great photography. The overall winner, Michael Shmidt, very sadly died just a few days after the award was made.
After a look round the exhibition I went to have a peek at the courtyard, which is stunning, and took today's shot. I was trying to capture a moment of tranquility amongst the hurly burly.
The one thing I forgot was that this week was half-term so on the way to the V & A I seemed to be enveloped in clouds of small children and a sea of buggies! After all the culture I decided to hop on the Tube and go to the South Bank - where I sat on a bench overlooking the mighty Thames eating a hot dog and fries - it tasted wonderful.
