Osprey Post
Lovely sunny day. After a trip to the pool I spent sometime in the garden writing an order for badges and other goodies for Brownies and then doing some dead heading. It was really warm and bright so after lunch we went to wash the car at Jemimaville where there's a jet wash thingy !
on the way we past the Udale Bay bird hide and there was the osprey sitting on a post. Abit too far away fir a decent shot but you can see him/ her in the middle of the picture. The tide was in and I was hoping it would fly off and fish but it sat there for about 30 minutes while others with Super, duper, mega money lens took photos.
Lots of other birds around too, including Canada geese, another goose among them that I need to Id, lapwing, shelduck, teal, gulls of various kinds, hooded crows, swan, male and female eider, mallard, at least 3 heron, curlew, starling, oystercatchers, and others that were too far away to see properly.
On the way back we stopped on the Eathie Path and went for a walk to the Dragonfly pond. A few around, the bluebells lining the bank looked wonderful and the gorse filled the air with the smell coconut oil. The view to the sea and distance mountains across the arable fields took our breath away.
We had fun trying to take a selfie but being much smaller than Mike it was nt easy and I kept ending up with a massive head. Mike told me not to bend down, I was nt !!This sent us into fits of laughter and scared all the wildlife away !
