Impatient

Please see yesterday's blip. Just a little into today, around 1.30am, my new wee nephew made his entrance, and the smooth machinery of the neonatal care team swept into action. For several hours they had known he was on his way and that he was very premature, and were extremely well prepared. In this shot he is meeting his mum, aged about 20 minutes. Such a privilege to be there for his grand entrance. I should apologise to him for the quality, and the lack of flattering angle and expression etc, there wasn't a lot of time! After this he was taken off to the ICU, and is still there, stable and now breathing on his own with a wee oxygen feed to help out, cosy under his bubble wrap blanket, and proving his character as a tough wee cookie, just like his mother who was also a tiny premmie baby in her day. It's a long road yet, with many potential hurdles to overcome, but he's made a great start. I can't wait for a cuddle, though that will be a wee while ahead yet I suspect. Of course his Mum, Dad, brother and sister get first dibs on the cuddles!
