One is bound to wonder.

We went to Barton Grange, yetagain.
Fed 1st, got what we wanted and a teeny bit more. ('Twas ever thus) Fed of course: I may just have mentioned that it's generally worth going just for the scran - Today's choice was whole chicken breast Tika & rice + as much veg as we chose to pile on besides.
Thence to Lancaster where Ooer Lass actually also got what she was after. (Makes a nice change)
This scene met us in the main shopping/pedestrian area.
It struck me that, like Penrith they seemed to be
A) Disenchanted with the stone setts.
B) Unaffected by the, so called recession and consequent cut-backs we hear of everywhere.
The thing is ... we couldn't see WHY they were ripping up an apparently sound surface which was relatively traffic free to replace it with a similar surface.

DUH?!?!?!?
