Call To Prayer

Taken inside the Blue Mosque, Istanbul, Turkey.

This is the men's prayer area inside the beautiful, colossal mosque in the center of Istanbul, albeit outside of prayer time.

I don't have a lens wide enough to convey the scale of the inside of the building, but it is a very beautiful building, perhaps 40m tall inside the top dome, with intricate gilding and blue and cream patterned walls, supported by four massive pillars, maybe seven meters in diameter.

Visitors may enter the mosque, provided they remove their shoes, cover their legs if they are wearing shorts or a short skirt, and women cover their heads.
