The light at the end of the pier...

The light at the end of the pier may have been switched back on.

For those of you following the long running saga there may be some movement with regard to reopening the pier. It made the front page of the local paper after some "poor" cruise ship passengers had to scramble ashore over rocks and a disused sewage pipe last weekend.

No mention was made of the pleasure it brings to local people like me. In fact in previous articles local people were accused of vandalising the pier when in fact the railings are been torn apart in storms by the lines of vessels moored there and the litter and general destruction was caused by visiting anglers. I have seen it first hand...the evidence!

Still at this stage I don't care what motivates the reopening as long as it happens...
